Not a high week for Yahoo, that's for sure! Ironically, I'm kind of hopeful about their food site - at least Yahoo and Google won't have to compete over who provides recipes for the best cookies. On a more serious note, I've always felt that Yahoo's main problem has been its continued attempts at competing with Google and trying to beat the search engine at its own game; so in a way, I cheered when I heard about the food site because, finally, Yahoo seemed to be doing something different for a change.
I agree, though, Yahoo does come across as a little bit desperate in that list, and for a good reason - with its stock price down 34% this year and Google outflanking it in every way that counts, Yahoo has ample reason to worry.
